Cookies policy

Cookies are small text files that are stored on the user’s device when they browse certain websites through the use of their default browser and are stored in the browser's file directory. They are used by server-side web applications to store and retrieve customer-side information.

Cookies are divided into “technical”, “analytical” and “profiling”. Them, cookies can be divided into “first party” and “third party” cookies.

The use of cookies and similar technologies by the OnlinePlatform takes place in compliance with the new European legislation introduced by Regulation 679/2016/EU (hereinafter also "GDPR") and Directive 2002/58/EC (on electronic communications), as well as the relevant Italian legislation (Legislative Decree 196/2003, hereinafter also the “privacy code”).

1. Use of cookies

The Online Platform uses the following cookies:

1.1. Technical cookies.

The main purpose of technical cookies is to make online browsing more accessible. Almost all browsers are set to accept technical cookies, however the user can independently change the configuration of his/her browser or use specific add-ons and block them: in this case, the use of the Online Platform and the use of some services may be limited.

Technical cookies are divided into “session” and “persistent” cookies: both are stored on the user's device but the former are deleted when the browser is closed, while the latter remain stored until they expire.

The Online Platform uses “session” technical cookiesfor the operation of navigation within the online pages, such as allowing authentication to restricted areas or storing temporary user preferences; these cookies are deleted once the browser is closed.

The use of session cookies (which, in any case, are not stored permanently on the user’s computer and are automatically deleted as soon as the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the purpose of the transmission of data consisting of random numbers generated by the server, that identify the specific session and are necessary to allow safe and efficient browsing.

In some cases, the Online Platform also uses “persistent” technical cookies, to store user choices relating to, for example, the language or type of device.

Persistent cookiesare stored on the users’ device between distinct browser sessions and allow to remember the user’s actions on a website. Persistent cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, including remembering user preferences (eg. the website language) when using a website.

1.2. Analytical cookies

The online platform uses first-party and third-party analytical cookies. These cookies are used to track the user’s browsing preferences and to collect statistical data.

With regard to third-party analytical cookies, tools are adopted that reduce the identifying power of cookies and the third party does not cross-reference the information collected with others it already has.

The installation of analytical cookies is left to the user's free choice, through the appropriate option “accept cookies” / “disable cookies” present in the banner that appears automatically on the Online Portal at the first access to the website, or by continuing to browse the Online Platform after reading the banner. However, the user can exercise the choice to disable cookies also through the settings of his/her browser.

1.3. Profiling cookies

The Online Platform uses third-party profiling cookies. Profiling cookies are used to track the user’s navigation and create a profile of the same based on his/her behavior, which can then be used to send advertising messages to the user’s device.

Third-party profiling cookies are cookies from other websites or advertising circuits(Google AdSense, etc.) that can be sent to the user’s device during or after the navigation on the Online Platform.

The installation of profiling cookies is left to the user’s free choice, through the appropriate option “accept cookies” / “disable cookies” present in the banner that appears automatically on the Online Portal at the first access to the website, or through the user’s choice to disable cookies through his/her browser settings.

To manually change the settings regarding cookies, please refer, by way of example, to the links of the most used individual browsers:

1.4. Social cookies

The online platform also uses third-party social network plugins, in order to allow the user to authenticate to the online platform through already existing information, stored by a social networking service (so-called social login), as well as to share content on different social networks. They allow the user to interact through social networks (eg. “share” function). These cookies can be disabled manually through the options of your browser as indicated above, by way of example, regarding how to manually change the settings regarding cookies on your browser.

Social network cookies are not necessary for navigation. For more information on the policies for the use of cookies by Social Networks, you can consult the respective privacy and cookie policies. Below are the most common:
